ME AND MY MISSION

Jasmine Good (she/her), known as @jaz.tunes to the social media world, is a vibrant Australian composer-performer.

Raised in a musical family, Jasmine was introduced by her parents—both singers and instrumentalists—to the worlds of contemporary jazz, theatre, and film music. These early influences fostered her love for the saxophone in both jazz and classical settings, as well as vocal performance shaped by jazz and musical theatre traditions.

Her compositional voice is shaped by a fascination with mathematical structures and contour—using equations and geometric shapes to guide musical form and phrasing in both the zoomed-in aspects of composition, such as melody and rhythm, as well as the bird’s-eye view: texture and form.

She has studied with renowned Australian composers including Daniel Rojas, Jack Symonds, Paul Stanhope, Peggy Polias, and Carl Vine. In 2024, her original musical The Futility of Falling premiered at Flight Path Theatre after winning MUSE’s annual search for new works.

MY MISSION

As a composer, my purpose is to bridge classical tradition and contemporary innovation through music that blends mathematical devices with emotional depth. Using geometric forms, abstract concepts, and structured intuition, I create compositions that engage both the analytical mind and the heart.

My vision is to build a sustainable, forward-thinking career where artistic experimentation and professional strategy work in harmony. I aim to develop a body of work that challenges norms and fosters collaboration across disciplines classical and contemporary.

I value authenticity, curiosity, and the belief that music is a powerful tool for connection and transformation. My work is for listeners and musicians who seek depth, detail, and new perspectives—those who are open to experiencing music as both an intellectual exploration and emotional journey.
