BLOOD WATER explores the paradox of unconditional love and the emotional weight that can accompany deep familial connection. Inspired by my relationship with my father, the work reflects on the way profound love can blur the boundaries between our own emotions and those of the people we care about. Through years of sharing one another's struggles as acts of love and support, I came to recognise how easily compassion can become an emotional burden.

Rather than viewing this as a weakness, BLOOD WATER embraces it as a consequence of something beautiful. The piece considers the lasting emotional footprints left by the people who shape us, and the delicate balance between empathy and emotional independence. It is ultimately a reflection on love's dual nature: its ability to comfort, strengthen and connect us, while also leaving us vulnerable to carrying the weight of another person's pain.
